All the grapes for this wine come from a trellised, hand-harvested vineyard in Stellenbosch. Grapes are picked in bins in optimal conditions to ensure quality. This wine was whole bunch pressed and fermented naturally in older French
oak barrels. This Chenin Blanc is a medium-bodied wine with lovely depth on the palate and a long finish. The taste is fresh with hints of apple and pear. The oaking
rounds off the wine and adds depth. 1730 bottles were produced.

William Charles Winshaw was not the peg-legged, eye-patch variety of
swashbuckler. Rather, the Collins dictionary version: a flamboyant adventurer. He led a full and varied life as a cowboy, gold prospector, gambler, soldier, doctor, and winemaker.
